What is a Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card?
The Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card is a prepaid MasterCard card that carries a fixed cash amount determined by the giver at the time of purchase. The Card is not a credit card.
What makes a Ultrimal Investment Mastercard Gift Card different from a store gift card or gift certificate?
Unlike store gift cards or gift certificates, Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Cards can be used anywhere MasterCard debit cards are accepted. Store gift cards or gift certificates limit purchases only to that store.
How does the Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card work?
Your Card looks like any MasterCard card, but it is a prepaid card. Spending is limited to the amount of money placed on the Card by the purchaser, less any fees or charges that have been assessed against the Card. Each time you use your Card, the amount of the transaction is deducted from the balance. The Card is not reloadable and cannot be reused after the card balance has been exhausted. How will I know the original value of my Ultrimal Investment Mastercard Gift Card?
The dollar amount is usually printed on the card carrier. You can also obtain the amount online at at www.ultrimal.com/mcgiftcard or by calling 1-800-786-8317.
How can I check the balance on my Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card?
The Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card can be used at merchants that accept MasterCard debit cards. The Card cannot be used to obtain cash back from merchants on purchase transactions, in an ATM, to make regular preauthorized payments to third-parties, to conduct gambling transactions over the Internet, or any illegal activity.
How can I purchase an item that costs more than the balance on my Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card? (for example, the card value is $25, and the purchase amount is $60.)
Tell the merchant in advance that you will be using two methods of payment ("split" transaction). Present your Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card and state the specific amount to be deducted. Then pay the difference with a second method of payment - cash, check, or credit/debit card. If you do not tell the merchant and try to make a purchase for more than the amount available on your Card, the transaction may be declined. It is important to keep track of your remaining Card balance so you know the funds that you have available.
Can I use my Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card at gas stations?
Yes, but you may want to give your Card to the station attendant that will complete the transaction at the register. If you wish to pay at the pump, you may be declined if you do not have enough funds on the Card for a full tank of gas. Most gas stations will authorize pay at the pump transactions at $75.00.
Can I use my Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card at restaurants and hotels?
Yes, but be aware that many restaurants, hotels and other merchants may add an automatic tip or other anticipated service charge to the purchase amount when authorizing card purchases. Ultrimal Investment may place a hold against the Card balance for the anticipated purchase amount, which may remain in effect until the actual amount of the transaction is presented for payment on your Card. If your bill, plus the estimated tip or additional charge, exceeds the balance of your Card, the transaction will be declined. If this happens, ask the merchant to deduct a specific amount from the Card and use another method of payment for the balance.
Can I use my Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card for online and phone purchases?
Yes, but you must register the Card first by phoning the number on the back of your Card or by completing the cardholder information requested on the Ultrimal Investment Gift Card Web site. When you make an online or phone purchase be sure to use the same name, address, and phone number you used when you registered your Card. Otherwise, your transaction may be declined.
Can I use my Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card at an ATM?
No, your Card may not be used at an ATM.
Can I use my Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card to obtain cash at a banking location?
No, you can only use your Card for the purchase of goods and services.
Do I have to regiser my Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card?
The Card only needs to be registered if you plan to use it for Internet, mail or phone transactions. Most of these types of merchants will not accept payments without a valid "billing" address. Your registered address will serve as the "billing" address that these merchants require.
Who should register the Card, the purchaser or the end user?
The end user should register the Card before attempting to use it for Internet, mail or phone transactions.
How do I register my Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card?
Register your Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card by providing the information requested on the Ultrimal Investment Gift Card Web site or by calling 1-800-786-8317. You will need to provide your name, full address, and phone number.
What should I do if my Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card purchase is declined?
If your transaction is declined, call the number on the back of your Card for assistance. Before calling, make sure there are sufficient funds on your Card.
What if I need to return an item that I purchased with my Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card?
You may need to present your Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card at the time of a merchandise return. If the merchant's return policy allows, the merchant will credit the amount of the purchase back onto your Card. Each merchant location has its own return policies and will handle the returns in the same manner as any other MasterCard transaction. Remember to save your receipts and the Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card even after you have spent all the funds, in case there are any merchandise returns.
Does the Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card recipient need to sign an agreement?
Each Card is distributed with Ultrimal Investment Gift Card Terms and Conditions that fully explain the rules regarding the use of the Card. The gift recipient accepts the terms and conditions by either signing the back of the Card, using the Card, or receiving the Card by request.
Will the Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card recipient receive a statement?
No. Recipients can review their current balance online through the Ultrimal Investment Gift Card Web site or by calling 1-800-786-8317 to receive balance and transaction information.
How many times can I use the Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card?
There is no limit on the number of transactions, you can use the Card until the balance is depleted. The Card is not re-loadable.
How long can I use the Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card?
The expiration date is shown on the front of the Card. You can use your Card through the end of the month shown.
Will there be any fees for using the Card?
After twelve (12) months of inactivity, a monthly service fee of $5.00 is deducted from the remaining balance on the Card. Other fees may apply. Please refer to the Ultrimal Investment Gift Card Terms and Conditions for details.
What happens if the card is lost or stolen?
If the Card is lost or stolen, call 1-800-786-8317 immediately. You must know your Card number. A replacement Card can be issued and any available balance (less the replacement card fee) will be transferred to the new Card. As long as the lost or stolen Card is reported immediately, you will not be responsible for any unauthorized merchant charges unless we reasonably determine, based upon substantial evidence, that you were grossly negligent or fraudulent in handling the Card.
What should I do with my Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card once the value is depleted?
Keep your Card, even after the balance is depleted, in case you need to return any purchased items. You may be asked to present the Card when returning items purchased with the Card.
What happens if there are still funds available when my Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card expires?
We encourage you to use of the entire gift amount before the Card expires. Any remaining balance will be returned to the recipient by check within four to six weeks, when requested in writing. See your Ultrimal Investment Gift Card Terms and Conditions for information on the fees that apply.
My Ultrimal Investment MasterCard GiftCard doesn't have my name on it, do I still sign my name on the purchase receipts?
Yes, you should still sign your name on the receipt when making a purchase. Make sure you sign the back of your Card so that retailers can validate your identity by comparing your signature on the receipt with the one on your Ultrimal Investment MasterCard Gift Card.
